Hotel Palmeiras

I was traveling with my three children, ages 21, 16, and 13, after a 13-hour journey and a two-hour wait at Immigration. It was my third stay here, on February 15, 2026. I'd booked through Booking.com a few days earlier, hoping to get some rest before setting off home early the next morning. At check-in, the receptionist said there had been a problem with Booking.com and they couldn't process the room payment, so I paid by credit card directly at the hotel. We were put in room 101. It was very nice, with a balcony, a table and chairs, and a hammock. But at 1:50 AM I woke up to find the room completely soaked. It was raining, and water was dripping through the light fixture in the middle of the room. I went to find the receptionist. He said the hotel was full, so he couldn't move us, and there wasn't another bed or mattress. He offered clean, dry sheets, but that made no sense with water still coming in and the mattress clearly soaked. He called and wrote to the owner and his son but got no answer. By 2:40 AM, with no solution on offer, I suggested moving the bed away from the leak, putting blankets over the wet side since the other side was wooden, and using dry sheets. I just needed to get some sleep before another long trip, eight hours the next day. We followed his instructions, moved the beds, and managed to sleep. At 7 AM I was woken to move the car, which is a separate issue with the “garage.” Once I got up, I realized I was wet too. I was so exhausted that I hadn't noticed before. After breakfast, I looked for the receptionist, but she wasn't there. I waited a few minutes, then left with my children because we had a long drive ahead. What I regret most is that I expected the owner or someone in charge to contact me the next day and at least apologize. Nobody did. I waited 48 hours for a WhatsApp message, through the end of that period, and still heard nothing. That's why I'm writing this, so others know what kind of people they're dealing with. I don't mean the employees, who did what they could within their responsibilities. I mean the owner or owners, who seem to have no idea what EMPATHY means, since they couldn't even send a message. On top of that, I got a notification that my Booking.com reservation had been canceled in the early hours that same night. So they also kept the commission the platform charges once a booking is confirmed. I can't recommend this place, and I won't be going near it again.

We're from Uruguay and stayed two nights. The food was spectacular, and the rooms were lovely. The service was excellent too, and we had a great time at the really nice pool, playing pool. It was a successful stay, and we'll be back soon! Thanks, H. Palmeiras 🫶🏻

The place is clean enough, and it works for a night or two, but the building is old, which seems typical of the city. Breakfast was simple. On the day I stayed there were no hot dishes, like scrambled eggs, even though there was a spot for them on the table. I did see a hair on the breakfast buffet. I guess someone was touching their hair while serving themselves without thinking about it.

It was fine for a night on the road. The place was tidy and clean, and it has a garage. A couple of small problems, though: the air conditioning didn't work, and I couldn't adjust the shower temperature. For a roadside hotel in a border town, it was okay.
