The pool was clean and pleasant, and there was a friendly porter at the entrance whenever I checked, though I can't say if someone is there around the clock. The beach is just across a fairly busy road, with a long line of barracas in between serving food and drinks all day. A good new-looking supermarket is about a 5-10 minute walk along the beach road; it has plenty of fresh produce, and the staff were helpful. The apartment itself could have been cleaner. The sheets were stained despite being clean, the wall behind the bed was stained too, and there was no headboard. There was also a strong damp smell. I gave it three stars because of the stains. Without that, I would have rated it four or five.

They initially wanted to charge more than the Booking.com price, but the manager honored the booked rate after I spoke with them. The place was nice. A 20-liter bottle of mineral water cost R$18 and was already in the room.
