The bar and restaurant team were the highlight for us. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The hotel was very clean, and the location was great, near Coroa Vermelha and plenty of beach bars. Late-night dining nearby is limited to just two open places. Thankfully, the hotel restaurant is very good, and we appreciated having it there. We were disappointed by the reception staff over our late checkout request. We asked three days ahead, but nobody could say whether it was possible. They told us to check again on departure day. We asked at 6 a.m. and again at 7 a.m., and got the same answer: they didn’t know and needed to confirm. The manager, Lazaro, was never available. By 11:45 a.m. we still had no clear answer, so we gave up and started getting ready to leave. They offered us another hour shortly afterward, when we were almost ready to check out, so it didn’t help. It’s a great hotel with excellent bar and restaurant staff, but reception’s poor communication and lack of flexibility were frustrating. Keep that in mind if you request a late checkout.

You’re right across from the beach, with several great places to eat and beach spots just a 5-10 minute walk away. There are areas for kids, a nice pool, two hot tubs, and a sauna, plus a pool bar for adults. The service was great, the people were nice, and the food was good.

I expected much more from the reviews, so I was disappointed. The hotel is attractive and clean, with new facilities, good quality bedding, a nice pool, and generally good service. It’s right across from a pleasant beach with calm water, especially good for families with kids. Our room, 139, was next to the linen room where housekeeping kept bedding. Starting at 7 a.m. every day, people talked loudly there, making it impossible to rest. A pump nearby usually started around 6:30 p.m. and sometimes ran until 11:30 p.m. It was so noisy in the room that watching TV, talking, and especially sleeping were difficult. There was also a strong wood smell in the room, I think, which was awful for anyone with rhinitis. Even the bedding smelled bad, and the odor clung to clothes and your body. The pillows were extremely high, with no lower ones available, particularly a problem for children. The room cleaning could have been better too, as the photo of the dusty headboard shows. Breakfast was decent overall, with good tapioca, but it wasn’t anything special and was very repetitive. There were no regional choices, and some options were missing, like salami and cappuccino. There also wasn’t much variety for people who can’t have lactose or gluten. I had high hopes for the main restaurant, but the food was a huge letdown: bland, poorly prepared dishes and very few choices. The meat was cold, and the rice was undercooked and broken up. It was far too expensive for what they serve. Some restaurant employees could also be friendlier with guests. The hotel has the potential to be one of the best in the area, but it still has a lot to improve. The area is far from everything, and at night especially, you need to use Uber or a taxi.
