The room was clean, had everything I needed, and was comfortable. Breakfast was simple but really tasty. I only ended up at this hotel because my boat from Manaus arrived in Santarém much later than expected, so I didn’t get to Alter do Chão until 3 a.m. I couldn’t check in at the hotel I’d booked because nobody answered the doorbell, so I knocked at this place next door. They kindly let me in despite the late hour. Many thanks to the hotel’s madam! Just to clarify, the hotel I’d originally booked wasn’t at fault. The boat’s poor communication caused the whole misunderstanding. I’m grateful that the hotel later apologized by email and refunded my accommodation fee. Thank you for taking care of that.

The inn is very close to Ilha do Amor and the center of Alter, which worked really well for us. Leana, Marcos, and the whole team were so attentive, sharing useful tips about Alter and giving us all the support we needed for a comfortable stay. We felt at home and looked after the whole time. We had an incredible visit and wholeheartedly recommend Vipayu. Anyone staying there will feel at home and embraced by the staff’s hospitality ♡

We were charmed by Pousada Vipayu during our stay in Alter do Chão. Leana and her family made us feel completely at home and comfortable. The location is ideal, close to both the beach and the center, so we walked everywhere while we were there. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and high quality. Our room was comfortable, with a lovely bed and an immaculate bathroom. Water, soda, and the other drinks sold at the inn were also very reasonably priced. We have no complaints at all, just thanks for such a great stay. We’ll certainly choose the same place on our next trip to Alter do Chão.

The owners and their team made our stay wonderful, and the breakfast had lots of fresh options. The inn itself is pleasant and attractive, with new facilities that are all well cared for, and it’s close to the waterfront. It also seemed to draw a nice mix of families and people with good taste. I’ll definitely come back!

The price was great, and the owners and staff were very friendly and cared about our well-being. They shared useful tips about Alter do Chão. The inn is in an excellent spot, on Rua do Carimbó and right next to Ilha do Amor.
