Ibis Santos Gonzaga Praia

The staff were super friendly, breakfast was great, and the shower was great too. But the halls and rooms smelled dusty, and the air vents were really dusty. The AC wasn't working properly, the curtain was falling down, and the mattress was too soft. My stay was okay.

They wouldn’t let me check in before 2 pm when I asked at the desk. I came back at 2, but the line was so long that we didn’t reach the front until 3. That cost us an hour we could have spent at the beach. The hotel funnels dozens of guests into one queue and seems inflexible about check-in.

The beach view and location were good, but that was about it. Check-in took nearly an hour, and even simple issues were handled inefficiently. Breakfast wasn’t very appealing either.

We chose this IBIS for a short stay, arriving late and leaving in the morning, so we expected the usual simple, clean, efficient setup. Instead, my wife and I had to start the day with a cold shower because there was no hot water. At checkout, the front desk told me there had been a water problem, but nobody had warned us beforehand. They still asked for my credit card and charged the full fare for a few hours of sleep and a cold shower. Hard to know what else to say.
