The reception service was good when we arrived. The room, though, smelled strongly of cigarettes, and there was an ashtray. It seemed sleepable at first, maybe okay if you’re going to the hospital, but then the noise started, with people playing the TV loudly. Avoid suite 503, the elevator motor seems right next to the bed. Breakfast was awful. I don’t mind paying, but R$176 with breakfast was too much for what we got. The juice was great, but the coffee was strong and bad, maybe made with the cheapest grounds, or perhaps the flask hadn’t been washed properly. Washing it with coarse salt might help with the hygiene and the strong smell. Cheddar, processed ham, banana and bad coffee, come on. They could serve mozzarella instead of cheddar and proper ham, and probably spend less. My criticism is meant to help the hotel improve without spending much. The hotel depends on its guests, after all, so management should pay more attention to its rating.

The room was clean and we booked one for three people, so there was no issue with that. But the kit came with two bars of soap, and after I showered I had to ask for another towel and soap. For a room booked for three, that should have been obvious. I called reception and the woman was incredibly rude. She shouted that they’d bring the towel, insisted she’d already sent the soap in the kit, then hung up on me. A little later, someone banged on the door and yelled twice that our time was almost up. When we opened it, she was standing there staring at us. She seemed like an overgrown steroidal goblin. We went to take the elevator down, but she locked it, so we had to use the stairs. She followed us down and only came down after we did. Totally clueless and unethical. Maybe they were jealous because they wanted to join in, but there’s no excuse for that kind of rudeness or security guard wannabe behavior. I hope this only happened to us and not anyone else, because we won’t be back.
