Luna Hostel

In five years of backpacking, this is the best hostel I’ve stayed at so far. Go see for yourself what I mean.

Really top-notch!

We were a group of seven and all slept in the same room on triple bunks. The beds were firm and didn’t wobble when someone moved above or below. The room also had a spacious, very clean bathroom. We felt at home at this peaceful hostel, thanks in large part to Lidiane and Alberto, who were fantastic, polite, welcoming, and understanding. Alberto’s cake was seriously good, and the homemade bread was delicious too. For the outing, we booked the three peaks, Baú, Bauzinho, and Ana Chata, all in one day. Larissa and Fabrício guided us really well. They’re both experienced climbers and made us comfortable throughout the hike, especially on the via ferrata up Pedra do Baú. Excellent guides, highly recommended. It was an incredible, unforgettable trail. Alberto also pointed us to some great pizza places and snack bars. The next day he suggested Cachoeira do Poção, which was a lovely chance to cool off. São Bento do Sapucaí is a small town, but it’s well set up for adventure tourism, with clean streets and good signs and organization for visitors. We hope to come back soon and bring more people. The place was spotless and well organized, with a spacious shared kitchen. Our room had triple bunks that stayed steady when climbing up or down, plus a bathroom with a big shower box. There’s also a pool, lovely mountain views, and it’s pet friendly, with two adorable dogs and two cats. Lidiane and Alberto were great hosts, upbeat and easy to feel at home with, even though we’d only just met. We booked the three peaks hike with a group of friends: Bauzinho, Ana Chata, and Pedra do Baú. We had a delay on the road, but they kept in touch and helped us figure out what to do when we arrived late. Over the next few days, breakfast came with cake, homemade bread, jams, and cold cuts. I’d definitely stay here again.
