Saint Charles Hostel

The room was clean and the place was quiet, so the four of us had a great stay during Economiadas. Sharing one bathroom meant it took longer for everyone to get ready, though we expected that. There was a hot shower with a timer and complimentary breakfast. Great value and a pleasant place to stay in Sao Carlos. We’d definitely recommend it, and we’re already thinking about coming back.

The location is hard to beat, close to the bus station, universities, shops, restaurants, and gyms. I stayed for a month and never had a problem. The house rules are sensible, and the owners and staff are friendly. It feels welcoming while still giving you privacy, and the sound insulation was good, with no noise bothering me day or night. Everything was clean and in good working order: well-equipped kitchen, electronic locks, lockers with padlocks, cameras in the shared areas, clean bathrooms, and a washing machine that worked properly. The hostel is also comfortable, tidy, and secure, with good spaces for work and study, plus a hammock, barbecue, and pool table. I made some good friends there too.

We stayed here twice, and both visits were really good. Everything was organized, and getting in was easy. There’s parking, and having a kitchen available made things much easier for us traveling with kids. The outdoor area was great for spending time with other guests and the hostel owners. Saint Charles has become our place to rest in São Carlos.

I stayed here during an event and found it quite comfortable. Plenty of beds, a nice hot shower, and a kitchen stocked with cutlery and pans. I recommend it!
