Estalagem da Serra

We spent three days there and the floor in the room and bathroom was never cleaned. I asked a young woman, who I believe was the hotel owner's daughter, and she said they didn't clean the floors. We also had to ask for fresh towels and replacement soap. We changed rooms three times after arriving. The first had a leak, and the second had no desk to work at. The Wi-Fi on the third floor didn't work, so I had to work in the reception area. When I asked the receptionist about changing rooms again, she said everything was up to the manager and the problem wasn't hers. The staff seemed completely lost. A really awful experience.

The room itself was clean and cozy, with Netflix and Globo Play, but the bathroom had broken furniture and missing tap handles. There were very few notices about pandemic precautions, and the owners went around without masks the whole time. We stayed two nights and the room wasn't cleaned between them. Breakfast had very few choices, and there didn't seem to be a set time for it. Reception was the biggest problem. The boys were hard to find, and we had to keep calling their mother to send someone over. When they finally showed up, they seemed more interested in playing on the computer and barely answered our questions. There were no drinks in the minibar, so getting a beer meant asking at reception. I went through three people before finally reaching their mother on the emergency number. Even then, they didn't know the prices. We were really disappointed, especially because the online reviews were so good. We later found out the owners, who are the parents of the boys helping us, were away and had left things in their sons' care.

The heating was just for show. It was -6 degrees outside, and the room was freezing. The shower wouldn't get warm either, so we had to use our wet towels. When we went out, we were told the bath towels would be changed and the room serviced. We got back late, and they hadn't even left toilet paper. No one had gone in to do the service. On arrival the room had looked very clean and tidy, and they had said there was heating. Breakfast was nothing special and didn't even have the basics you'd expect. That felt like total disregard for guests. I won't go back or recommend the place.

I spent two nights there while the temperature ranged from 3 to -6 degrees. The heating only worked for about 20 minutes. They didn't change the towels or replace the toilet paper, and breakfast didn't have many options. I'd only suggest staying there when it's between 12 and 20 degrees.
