The staff were friendly, particularly the kitchen team and waiters, and the spaces have lots of distinctive decor details. We also enjoyed the experiences, especially the bonfire lit each night. Saturday and Sunday lunch had special dishes that made the trip up the mountain worthwhile. Some things fell short. Reception was slow to reply on WhatsApp during both booking and our stay. In Chalé do Lago, there were holes in the ceiling, floor, and baseboards, and two spiders about the size of an open palm came in at night. I took photos. Some room light fixtures were broken and had no switches. For the most expensive lodging, I expected a fire pit at the lake chalet, but there wasn't one. The chalet's only way to contact reception is the internet, so if the power is out or the connection fails, you have to drive over. The cold cuts served at night also seemed below Parador Rampel's usual standard, like an ordinary supermarket platter. We stayed at Chalé do Lago from March 11 to 14, and I had first known Parador Hampel as Veraneio back in 1998, during a religious retreat. When I got the chance to show it to my wife, I was glad to. It was nice to see the legacy continue, and the improvements have made it better than I remembered. We travel a lot in Brazil and abroad, and have been exploring the south of Brazil too. We visited Curitiba and Morretes last November, then SF de Paula in March. There were good and less good parts, so this is my honest feedback.

The Master Room had no gas for the shower, and the walls around it were covered in mildew. I wouldn't recommend it because there was no supervision on site if something went wrong. They didn't give me a receipt when I paid for the stay, but said they'd send one via WhatsApp.

Lunch was a great experience.

A lovely spot surrounded by nature, with waterfalls, a lake, trails, and really good food. It's pet friendly too.
