Kontiki Hotel

Average.

The wonderful view and the attentive, helpful hosts made the stay pleasant. The hotel itself has very old facilities and simple rooms.

Everything was lovely and enjoyable. Really good!

Breakfast was pleasant in a small dining room, with fresh, tasty items, though nothing especially memorable. The hotel is in a great spot in São Francisco do Sul’s lovely historic center, and its age could have been charming, but it’s poorly maintained, the cleanliness is questionable, and there isn’t much comfort. The bed was basic, though I did sleep well. In the bathroom, there was one thin, worn bath towel and no hand towel, plus just one tiny soap. The shower was nearly cold because the old electric unit wouldn’t heat up. The website says there’s parking, and there is, but it’s a cramped little garage with room for at most six cars. When I arrived in the early evening, the receptionist only said the space was next door. It was dark where I parked, so I had to find a light switch myself. An inexperienced driver could easily scrape the car there.
