The big pool and spacious parking were real pluses, and there’s also a sauna and air conditioning. Breakfast was okay, and the staff were very attentive. The internet was awful, though, both the Wi-Fi and mobile data. In my case, I use VIVO.

For cyclists, this place is a great fit, with beautiful roads, stunning scenery, and everything you need for riding. We also found it wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by nature and very well cared for. Luca looked after us with so much kindness and attention, taking care of all the little details. The service from start to finish was impeccable, and we left feeling refreshed and already wanting to come back. We were simply enchanted by our stay at Reserva Porto Bocaina. I recommend it without hesitation!

We only stayed one night, which felt like a shame in such a lovely place. Our room was clean, comfortable, well kept, and looked out onto nature. Even though we arrived close to 3 in the morning, Lucas welcomed us with a lot of care. Scooby and his crew were there to greet us too. Breakfast was delicious, and Paola took great care of us. Fabio also showed us around the whole hotel and shared tips about the city, which made a real difference. We’ll definitely return for a weekend with family and/or friends from the off-road world.

The hotel has lots to do: tennis courts, pools, boats, fishing, billiards, table tennis, and a sauna. The huge reservoir is nice for a swim when it’s full and the temperature is pleasant. The area’s waterfalls are a big draw, though the ones in the Serra are cold. The best ones are da Mata, Cachoeirão, Usina, Picota, Santo Isidro, and Veados na Serra. It’s also a great area for mountain biking with geared bikes, and for sports in general. I think this is the best hotel in the region, and I recommend Bocaina and the club for tennis. There has long been a clay court at Clube dos 200, and now there’s a clay court here at Porto too. I’m planning to build more clay courts at the farm soon, just for training. If you want to train on clay with me, these are the current options before we invest in more courts. There are several places to stay around here, including this hotel, where I live. Its former owner still owns the most charming hotel in Veados, about two hours up the Barreiro mountain road.
