Pousada Encanto da Bocaina

The view is incredible, and the room and bathroom are spacious. We had a great bed, a good shower, and a delicious breakfast. The inn is charming and comfortable, and easily the best in the region. The name really fits, it’s a true “enchanted” place. We had a very special stay and were welcomed with so much warmth and kindness. You can see the care in every little detail and in the tasteful decor.

The Bocaina's Cooking experience was divine. We learned to make Italian pasta and put together our own dinner, with wine, fun conversation, and a musical jam we made together. It was an exceptional way to celebrate my 41st birthday. I came with my wife Michelle and our yorkshire Emy, and we had a really lovely time. Our hosts Luciana and Wilson are wonderful people, with plenty of funny and inspiring stories to share. I highly recommend staying at the inn. Anyone who enjoys peace, comfort, and good energy should stay here.

Spending New Year’s here was great, and we brought our pet along too. It felt like taking a few days off at friends’ home. The inn is in a strategic spot in Serra da Bocaina, making it easy to get to S. José do Barreio and the surrounding area, as well as the upper part of the mountains. The team is great, and the owners are wonderful. I recommend it for a couples’ trip, with or without a pet.

The owners and staff made our visit special with their hospitality. It’s a great pet-friendly inn, with lots of waterfalls to visit and fairly easy access. If you have a pet and enjoy hiking on foot, by Ike, or in a 4x4, we recommend coming here. Be sure to try the meal at Pirilampo Bistrô. It’s a bit pricey, but after trying it, I’d say it’s worth it, both for the taste and for how the food is served.
