Hotel Lisboa

A filthy dump disguised as a hotel. The photos are misleading, and the place is a complete rip-off. It isn’t worth 5 reais a night, let alone 190. Stay away.

We used two rooms, and both were in bad shape. The low price doesn’t excuse neglect or poor hygiene, and I can’t recommend this place without a full renovation. The service wasn’t good either. The bedding and towels were poor and stained, looking used. The bathroom leaked around the flush valve whenever we flushed, soaking and dirtying the bath mat. The toilet wasn’t sealed with grout, so smells came through the gap, and the shower area and tile grout were filthy. The bedroom and bathroom doors were broken and had woodworm; the wooden blinds were filthy too. We asked to change rooms and get new bath mats, but that wasn’t possible. The ratings on booking’s website didn’t match reality, and neither did the photos.

The hotel is really old, and this was my first and last time here. The rooms were awful: one bed was broken, and water dripped from the ceiling onto it. They moved us to another room, but that bed was even worse and the TV didn’t work. Breakfast was terrible, with spoiled fruit. There’s also a room with dogs that keep barking and scratching at the doors. It was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I don’t recommend it.

I booked more than a week ahead for my employees, but when they arrived there were no rooms available. The explanation was that another company, which was supposed to have checked out, stayed on for more days than planned. That ended up affecting our confirmed reservations.
