ibis Sao Jose dos Campos Colinas

Good food and great staff, and it's a nice place to stay. If your Portuguese isn't great, most of the staff speak English.

The location worked really well, with local amenities within walking distance and plenty of restaurants in a nice neighborhood just a short drive away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The atrium is spacious and bright, with lots of seats, and the rooms are very large. From the upper floors, the views are excellent. It's a good value business hotel. The walls are thin, though, so noisy neighbors can be heard. One morning I was thirsty and went to the breakfast area for a glass of water. The staff member who greeted me insisted I had to sign up for the full breakfast to get one. I felt unwelcome, so I went outside and bought a bottle from the shop next door.

It feels like Ibis and Mercure together, and I couldn't ask for more. From my window I had a great view over the city, including the bridge and the mall. The team made me feel well looked after, from the valet crew to reception and housekeeping. Thanks to Guilherme from the bar and Jad for such a warm welcome. It really felt like luxury.

The hotel was fair enough, but getting the car back from parking took far too long. I hurried through breakfast to save time, then ended up wasting it all waiting for my car in the morning.
