Aera Hotel Sao Jose Floripa (ex. Ibis Sao Jose)

The breakfast quickly became my favorite part of the day: fresh fruit, homemade cakes, artisan breads, tapioca and omelets made to order, plus plenty of other choices and steady refills. The room was modern, roomy and quiet, with a comfortable bed, effective air conditioning, a strong shower and fast Wi-Fi that worked well for my home office. Getting to BR-101 was easy, and the location made it convenient to get around São José. I spent 15 days at Aera in São José/SC, and the care from the staff stood out from check-in onward. They greeted me by name, were genuinely friendly, and the reception team was quick and helpful when things needed sorting out. Everyone I met around the hotel was attentive and polite. The cleanliness was impressive throughout, from the room and bathroom to the shared spaces. The sheets smelled fresh and felt soft, the towels were good quality, and everything looked carefully cleaned. The housekeeping team deserves credit for that. Breakfast was served in a calm, tidy setting, too. Aera gave me a stay without problems, and its attention to comfort and guest well-being was clear. It has become my first choice in the city, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely high-quality stay.

Breakfast was great, and Júlia and Carlos were really good. The hotel worked well for what we needed, too. My only reason for not giving it a higher score is that I don't care for hotels where the parking is run by a third party.

The rooms were lovely, and the rest of the place looked clean and beautiful, but the welcome we got was awful. I have three small children, and they wouldn't let all of us stay in one room, so we had to split up and sleep in separate rooms. Thankfully their father was with us. I've never had a hotel do that before. The receptionist treated both families terribly and even said the hotel wasn't for families, only executives. I thought that rule was really unfair to my family.

Around 1:30 a.m. on 12/01/25, after hours on the road, I had a really unpleasant interaction with the parking attendant, Jean. I said good evening and asked a few things about check-in after parking, but he didn't answer or offer a cart for my bags. I complained at reception, where I was told the parking staff were outsourced. Management should pay attention to this kind of behavior. I'm paying to stay here, and the experience left me with a terrible impression of the hotel.
