Pousada Ello

Our 2025 trip to São Miguel do Gostoso left me with a feeling of natural beauty and calm. Wide beaches, steady winds, dunes, and landscapes that seem almost untouched make the place beautiful to look at, while the open sky and sea add to the sense of escape. Life moves at an easy pace here, and everything feels lighter. The town is about 100 km from Natal, on the coast of Rio Grande do Norte. What stood out most was how promptly and thoughtfully the pousada handled a booking problem. My app reservation showed the wrong dates, but when I contacted them directly, they sorted it out efficiently and with care. Breakfast was delicious too, and most of it is made right there ❤️. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, tidy, and have clean bathrooms with reliable hot water. Some look straight out over Maceió beach. Outside, there’s lots of greenery and a pool, a nice place to unwind. The location is handy as well, beside the famous Casa Colorida and close to Rua da Xepa, with restaurants, little shops, and supermarkets nearby. It offers a lot for the price, and the atmosphere is welcoming and restful. The Wi-Fi was the one downside. It didn’t work in my room during the whole stay, so I had to go to the front of the pousada to get online. Cell reception in the area is unstable too.

At night, the center has a street with a little of the feel of Pipa and Porto de galinhas, plus plenty of good food. Prices are a bit high, but I thought the visit was worth it. For the beach, access is easy, though there’s a long stretch of sand before you reach the water. I’d suggest driving to Tourinhos instead. The pousada itself has a warm welcome, balconies with hammocks, and a really large pool. Breakfast is simple but does the job, and everything is prepared fresh. A good place to stay.

The staff, Eloisa, Ingrid, Larissa, Tiago and Agusto, were polite and very helpful. They suggested places to visit and where to eat well without spending much. There’s plenty of space, lots of plants, a pool, and a very tasty breakfast. The rooms are large, airy, and clean, with big bathrooms and excellent hot showers.
