Pousada Alto dos Milagres

I asked for a quote over WhatsApp, then mentioned I’d found them on Airbnb. They said they weren’t listed there, so I sent the link and asked whether it was fake. After that, they stopped replying, even when I followed up. Maybe they assumed I couldn’t afford it. The price was much higher than on Airbnb, but a business should treat everyone with respect. I felt completely ignored.

The breakfast was good, and the young man who served it was very attentive. The view is lovely and the rooms are genuinely spacious, but comfort and cleanliness were nowhere to be found. The floor and under the bed were filthy, and the room was full of insects, from tiny ants to bugs I’d never seen before. I spent the night killing them and worrying they’d crawl into my ear, so we woke up even more exhausted than when we arrived. We were left on our own with no number to call if we needed help, and nobody told us the Wi-Fi password. We’d arrived tired at night and chose the inn on a recommendation from the restaurant next door. It turned into a nightmare. A place like this needs proper management and attention to guests, not just taking the money and sending people off. An inn needs guests who want to return and bring others. What a shame.

The view from here is unreal, and breakfast on the lookout was wonderful. I had the best tapioca. Tatiane and Darlan made a real difference with their cheerful, helpful service. The shower was great and everything was spotless. The inn itself is fantastic. My only wish is that they offered dinner there too, then it would’ve been perfect.

The room had a large terrace and plenty of space, but it wasn’t very clean. There were lots of little creatures, from mosquitoes and ants we recognized to bugs I’d never seen before. For what we got, 350 reais was far too much, especially since Booking.com showed it for 100 reais less. The room cleaning also costs extra. It’s set by the road, behind a stretch of woods, about 2 km from the beach.
