The Loft area is surrounded by a big construction site, which made it look pretty unattractive. We spent two nights in early October, and this visit was a letdown after having a terrific stay last year. Our room in the new building was several hundred yards from the main house, and getting there by electric golf cart over cobblestones was unbelievably jarring and uncomfortable. When we asked why they didn't use a vehicle with shock absorbers, no one answered. At 4 a.m. on the second night, heavy furniture was being moved above our room. It stopped, then started up several more times over the next hour. We got dressed and went upstairs, but the staff showed zero concern. When we raised it with the administration, we again got silence and no attempt to make things right.

The area is beautiful, but please find somewhere else to stay. We paid 1000 USD a night for a waterside villa that was full of mold, and they knowingly rented it to us. They admitted the problem, moved us to another moldy room the next night, then offered around 100 bucks for the inconvenience. We spent our whole stay hassling over this, and it ruined the trip. It's hard to believe they'd do this to guests paying 5000 real a night. They don't care about their guests, only about taking advantage of tourists.

We were there for a wedding, not an overnight stay, but the place made us think we'd like to come back for one sometime. The facilities are impressive, with natural swimming pools and tennis courts, and the food was delicious. We also got to take in the striking scenery, with beautiful grounds crossed by a lovely river.

You can come to Casa Marambaia just for lunch or dinner, and it's worth every penny. The food is delicious and fine dining, and the secluded setting has a great atmosphere. Sometimes there's even a small private party with a DJ. A wonderful getaway.

Lunch was way beyond the norm, with generous plates and excellent quality. Even the French chef came over to greet us, which was such a treat. The villa and its beautifully manicured gardens are idyllic, and the views are stunning. It felt almost like paradise in the area. Highly recommend!
