The rooftop gives an incredible view and a real sense of how enormous Sao Paulo is. The building, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, was built in 1966 and has a broad terrace open on every side. Visits are free, twice a day at 10am and 3pm, Monday through Friday except holidays. You can stay on the terrace for about 15 minutes. For sure, it's the city's best viewpoint.

As of May14 ,2025, visits had been suspended for renovation work until further notice. I checked online before going and couldn't find any notice about the closure. It's a shame when people come from other countries and find it shut. There should be an easier way to check the visit status.

The view across Sao Paulo from the rooftop is awesome, and there's also a small museum about the building's history. There are two visiting times. Head to the administration office at the entrance in the middle of the building. If I remember right, they are 10:30am and 15:30pm.

The community inside copan is great, and you can find everything there, even an art gallery. If you're in São Paulo for a short stay or a long one, it's worth trying to book a small studio through airbnb. It's an amazing place.

One of my favorite places in São Paulo. Galeria Pivo is a must-see part of the building's architectural beauty. Be sure to check out the restaurants underneath it, Lá Central, Bar do.Dona Onça, and café Floresta.
