Hotel Vilamoura

The hotel was cheap and fairly clean, and there was a fan. I’d probably stay again. The road outside is busy, so an Uber may drop you on the opposite side and you’ll need to cross the bridge. I remember it being very dark and thought it seemed dodgy, though maybe I was paranoid at the time. There’s a McDonald’s nearby, and the metro station is probably about a five-minute walk. That was a lifesaver. You don’t need cash for a ticket. I’m not sure, but maybe all the metro stations have just one ticket gate that takes debit or credit cards from international users. Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 9:30 on the top floor. It’s simple, with panini-style food, some cakes, and fruit, plus decent views. Don’t expect air conditioning from the pictures, because there wasn’t any. The TV had no remote, so you could only use its buttons, which was a bit tedious. Only two power sockets worked, and they were far from the bed. I’d like to think someone scavenged the copper from the sockets in the bathroom and beside the bed. There was no conditioner or shampoo, and the towels were across the room from the bathroom. Unfortunately, the only picture I have is of the bathroom.
