The room and lobby were very clean, and the staff were friendly. We got a free hour past checkout, and you can pay to extend it longer if needed. They also stored our luggage before check-in and after checkout, which helped since our flight was later in the day. We checked in a few minutes early so we could sleep before the carnival parade, then slept for four hours the next morning before checking out. We had a great experience and recommend the hotel.

I visited from Toronto, Canada. Right on Paulista Avenue in the heart of the city, this is a very nice, well-equipped hotel with everything needed for a great stay. I especially enjoyed the heated pool and sauna. The front desk staff could be a little friendlier and more helpful, but it's an excellent place to stay.

The breakfast was okay, with an omelette station and the like, but the rest didn't feel worth the expensive room price. My seventh-floor room was small and not great, with somewhat cheap materials. The indoor pool and fitness center were both quite small. Hard to believe this is meant to be a five-star hotel.

I had a really great stay and loved the hotel. Just wish I could've stayed a bit longer.

The staff were kind, and the location is extremely central and convenient. Beyond those points, though, Meliã Paulista fell short of what I’d expect from a five-star hotel. Breakfast was a letdown. There wasn’t much choice, the presentation felt uninspired, and the products were below the expected quality. A luxury hotel’s breakfast should feature local bakery and pastry items, good cured meats and cheeses, fresh healthy choices, and thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options. The rooms felt bare and bland, with plain white walls, basic furnishings, and no personality. The common areas are small and dated, and the corridors have a sad, unwelcoming feel. The place seems old-fashioned and would benefit a lot from a thorough renovation. Freud himself probably couldn’t find any character in those rooms.
