One night, a male guest in an unstable state came into a shared dorm that included women's rooms and started undressing completely. That kind of behavior is unacceptable in a shared room. The situation was eventually addressed, but that didn't make the hostel feel safe or comfortable. My worst experience was with the manager, Yuriy. He deliberately gained my trust and my friend's by acting friendly and helpful. He took money from me and payment from my friend for ten days of accommodation, then cheated us both. After getting the money, he stopped answering calls and messages, blocked us everywhere, and avoided all contact. He had also asked specifically about our travel dates in São Paulo and when we planned to leave, apparently so he could disappear once we were gone. I believe he used lies, manipulation, and our kindness to take our money. This didn't feel like a misunderstanding or mistake to me, but intentional fraud. Yuriy is a manipulator, liar, and scammer. I hope the owners fire him, or that karma catches up with him, because people who deceive and steal eventually pay for it. I'm writing to warn others: don't trust this manager or pay him directly, and be extremely careful if you choose to stay here.
