The price was good and the staff were nice, but I probably wouldn’t stay again. There are better hotels nearby for not much more. We booked a deluxe room, which I’m glad we did because it was only just acceptable. The booking site photos are very flattering. We stayed four days and didn’t get any housekeeping, though to be fair, we didn’t complain. The bathroom sink had just one tap, and I couldn’t tell if it was meant to be hot or cold. The Wi-Fi was poor, and we could hear the loud bar next door from our room. Still, I slept reasonably well. It was basic and just about OK.

The room cleaning was good, and the receptionists were helpful. The hotel is also handy for getting around, close to tourist spots and a metro station. But the surrounding area felt dangerous, so I wouldn’t walk there at night, even with lots of police nearby. My stay wasn’t great, and the negatives outweighed the positives. The Wi-Fi never worked, even though our room was right next to the modem, and the signal kept dropping. Breakfast had a decent range of food, but the dining area was tiny, so a queue formed. The wait was chaotic, with no staff directing people or controlling entry. Service there was slow too. The women working at breakfast took a long time to clear tables and replenish the buffet, and we could hear them chatting in the kitchen. Several times, they only took away the dirty plates without wiping the tables. I don’t recommend it.

I stayed at Hotel Tropicália for two days and had a very positive experience. Getting around was easy thanks to the hotel’s great location. The staff were polite, friendly, and eager to help throughout my stay. My room was clean, tidy, and a comfortable size. The internet connection kept cutting out and didn’t work well. If they improve the Wi-Fi, the stay would be perfect. I recommend the hotel for its service and location.

If you’re going to 25 de março or santa Efigênia, you can get around on foot. The hotel has an arrangement with the parking lot next door, where parking costs R$ 25,00 for 24 hours. Go over by an hour and they charge for another full day, so keep an eye on the time.
