The inn is right across from the lagoon and very well placed for getting around Praia do Sudoeste. We had a lovely stay over the November 20-23 holiday weekend, my husband and I. We asked whether we could leave our bags there so we could arrive early and have lunch nearby. Alex greeted us so warmly and politely, and we were able to get into our room before check-in time because it was available. We would have understood if it hadn't been. Alex was thoughtful throughout our stay and suggested places to visit, including Trilha dos Cardeiros, a beautiful trail around Fazenda Roberto Marinho. There are little beaches along the way where you can stop for a swim. At the end, Praia do Sudoeste has calm, clear water and a quiet beach we hadn't known about. You can also reach it by boat if you don't want to walk. Without Alex's tips, we might never have found this special place. Breakfast was simple but generous, with delicious little cakes. Coffee and hot water for tea were always available, and guests could use the kitchen and its utensils if needed. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, professor João. We had great conversations and enjoyed hearing about his path to Resonamuh. Conversation comes easily there, and we felt as if we'd known everyone for ages. We're grateful to Alex and professor João for such a wonderful stay, and we'll come back sometime.

After another inn let us down and didn't honor our reservation, we were desperate, more than 600 km from home on New Year's Eve, with every other inn and hotel full. We were lucky to find this little piece of paradise. Professor João and Fabiane were incredibly kind and welcoming. My family and I stayed in the George Harrison room, with air conditioning, a minibar, one double bed, and one single bed. It also had a solid wood wardrobe and colonial-style doors and windows. The bedding was spotless and smelled lovely. The hostel has a really positive feel, striking decor with lots of Beatles references, and great facilities overall. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and you could also ask for an omelet or scrambled eggs. The view facing the beach is beautiful too. The weather wasn't on our side during our stay, so we didn't get to see the wonderful sunset we'd heard about. My one suggestion to make it the best hostel I've stayed in would be to add a shared kitchen for guests. Even without one, there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, and the community will make you feel very welcome.
