The breakfast was very good, and we spent plenty of time grilling and swimming in the river. There are four pretty little cottages right beside the Rio Macaé, surrounded by lush nature, where you can unwind to birdsong and the sound of flowing water. Proprietária Sra Zanza and her son Rodrigo were so friendly and helpful, and made our days there really pleasant. A little paradise in Lumiar. We hope to be back soon.

The access road to the Pousada is the one drawback, and the parking area is small. Still, waking up to the sound of a waterfall and having breakfast beside it more than makes up for that!

Dona Zanza is so attentive and genuinely nice, and her son Rodrigo kept helping us over WhatsApp the whole time. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel like leaving. The cabins are cozy and simple, with a lot of care put into them. There’s a grassy yard full of plants and flowers, and a river runs through the Pousada. Such a lovely spot for a couple or a group of couples to enjoy together. I’ll be back for this experience as soon as I can.
