The chalés have great rooms and hot tubs, plus a spectacular view of Pedra Riscada. There’s also a kitchenette for putting together a quick meal or making breakfast. We were given wine and sparkling wine to toast the view and our stay. Down by the river, there’s a beautifully maintained garden and a marked trail. The pool at the German house, which has accommodation for groups, is also available to guests staying in the chalés. The one downside seemed to be a one-off: the family at the German house had their music extremely loud. It took away some of the peace for couples hoping to enjoy the sounds of nature.

It’s a really beautiful, cozy spot and works well for couples without kids. There isn’t much for children to do, especially in the rain, since the only options at the property are a pool and a waterfall.
