OYO Pousada e Hotel Putini

A special spot, surrounded by nature and still not far from São Paulo. It feels fresh, peaceful, and relaxing, with a lovely bucolic atmosphere and good design that shows real taste.

The room was clean and the natural setting is pretty, but I left feeling deeply regretful, misled, and disappointed. We had reserved a suite for R$ 430,00, but the site sent me to a different date from the one I selected. When I tried to fix it, it said there was no availability. At the property, the owners said they knew nothing about it, then showed us several available suites. Somehow the one I'd booked was the only one they said was no longer available, and the room they offered cost R$ 200,00 more. The rooms were practically the same, with no clear difference to explain the increase. It felt like we either had to pay extra or have nowhere to stay. The inn was nearly empty, and room 1, which I'd requested on the site, was unoccupied. Mr. Putini first welcomed us with wine and seemed to understand the problem. His wife was cold and inflexible, repeatedly saying those were the prices, which gave the impression that money was her only concern. We were tired, hot, and worn out, so we stayed. That doesn't erase the feeling that I'd been tricked. During our stay we saw guests leave before their bookings ended. We also spoke with an upset woman who said she'd paid R$ 800,00 for a moldy room, so we weren't the only dissatisfied guests. There was also an extra R$ 30,00 card fee. Each detail felt like another unexpected charge, and I honestly felt exploited, like a quiet robbery. The food prices were absurd: R$ 100,00 for two pancakes, or R$ 200,00 per person for a dish with protein. The property is far away, outside the wine route, with nothing nearby, and there is absolutely nothing to do at night. The atmosphere felt strange, heavy, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming. I asked for two dry towels because we arrived at 10 and planned to leave at 14 the next day. They refused, saying they'd only give us another towel and empty the bathroom trash if we stayed an extra day. Money matters, sure, but not knowing how to deal with people doesn't work in this business. They should hire managers for this inn. A warning: if they tell you the room you booked isn't available, be alert. Ask questions and don't agree to pay more without checking carefully. I will never go back.

The owners and staff were warm and welcoming, and Sr Putini especially stood out. He's clearly passionate about his business and happily explained the history of a place that's been lovingly cared for and expanded. The pousada has a lovely lake, interesting grounds, an art gallery, and a beautiful chapel, plus a canine team that's an extra delight, haha. There are apartments, bangalôs, and suites to suit different preferences, all spotlessly clean and well kept. Breakfast was excellent, and the drinks and meals offered in the rooms were priced fairly for the area and the kind of place it is. One of our most pleasant surprises. We'll definitely return and tell friends and family.
