La Gloria House

The room was dirty, and the shower barely had any water pressure. We also lost power, and the owner said it happened because we had turned on two showers at once and that we couldn't do that. The breakfast was very basic. It wasn't a good experience.

The inn was really uncomfortable. There was a horrible musty smell, irritating noise all night, and the breakfast was nowhere near what they promise. We had to keep begging for towels, and when we got them, they were awful, small and thin. The hosts were arrogant and completely unprepared to deal with guests or even their own staff. I was horrified by how they treated the employees. I befriended two of them and got a sense of how little empathy or gratitude they showed, despite the staff doing a good job welcoming their guests. I don't understand all the positive reviews. I even suspect they pay people well to leave good reviews here. My photos say enough. They show where the employees are made to stay. If they don't value the people who welcome guests, you can imagine how much they “value” the guests. Once they've got the money, our comfort seems to be the least of their concerns. That's it. Don't fall for the glowing reviews or the pretty, manipulated photos.

Amauri, Jana, and Fred make it easy to feel at home here. The place is beautiful and peaceful, and it's close to an area full of lovely beaches and waterfalls. I recommend it, 10/10.

We left completely in love with Freddy. The staff were incredibly kind and charming: Luan, Arturo, Leyla, and the man who got up at 5 am to take us to the raft on checkout day, whose name I don't know. Amauri also did a great job sorting out our lock problem. I can't put into words how good the service was. Wonderful people.
