Pousada Canto Das Estrelas Maresias

The common area and pool area are lovely. The rooms themselves are quite small, with little room to move around, and the sink is outside the bathroom. I was told at check-in that housekeeping would come every other day, and I wish they'd mentioned that when I was asking about the services. Breakfast was okay, but there wasn't much variety.

The Wi-Fi was excellent, and the pool was spotless. Our room had air conditioning, and the beach was easy to get to. The whole team was really attentive, and the place felt very peaceful. We loved this pousada and would happily come back. Bring insect repellent wherever you go in São Sebastião.

The first impression was rough: the entrance is a dirt track full of potholes, with debris around it. Inside, the facilities also need a lot more investment and maintenance. The old air conditioner was dusty and noisy, and the ceiling fan was too. The pool gets very little sun, so heating it would make it a good option on rainy days. Breakfast was basic and repeated the same items all five days; the coffee was cold each morning, and changing the carafe might help. The service was a bright spot. It’s a family-run pousada and the staff were very attentive.

The people at the pousada were lovely and attentive, which made it hard to leave this review. But the photos give a much better impression of the place than the reality. There’s a lot that needs maintenance, and the equipment is old. The air conditioner was dirty and loud, and the ceiling fan had thick dust on it. The bed’s wooden frame was peeling, there was a huge clump of hair tangled up there, and even the shower was in poor condition.
