We looked at a few other pousadas before choosing Ceu Azul, and none had the outdoor space to wander around that we found here. It feels like a little country house in the middle of Arraial da Ajuda, with a big open garden, fruit trees, and shady spots to relax. There's a pool, and they serve fresh fruit drinks, beer, and snacks. Marta and Fabio, the couple who run it, are adorable and made us feel at home. Our room was clean and nice, simple, with high ceilings, a Smart TV, and fast internet. Breakfast was among the best I've had on my trips in Bahia. It's only a few steps from the main street, so it's good for anyone who wants a garden and pool close to the action. For the money, it's the best value in Arraial d Ajuda.

On May 24, with flooding in Ubatuba, the service was awful. They were very rude and wouldn't help sort out my situation. They laughed at me and said I had to go through the flooded area anyway, even though I had a small child with me. Making us go through that in the cold was really unfair. The woman was extremely rude. I don't recommend them to anyone.

My chalet was very good, and the inn was spotlessly clean. The owner, Julia, should be around more, though. Val works there but has limits on what problems she can sort out during a stay. I also think the place needs some repairs. Aside from that, I have no complaints.

The place is clean and attractive, with a quiet atmosphere and a very good welcome. Breakfast isn't being served, and that leaves guests in a difficult spot since they can't use the kitchen either. Some rooms also have very small, old tube TVs, so more modern sets would help. I'd like to come back once those details that matter are taken care of.
