Pousada da Árvore

We stayed in a chalet, which worked well since the pousada doesn't provide breakfast there. The kitchen utensils let us make our own, though a few things were missing, like a stove. The place is clean and well organized, has a lovely pool, and is easy to reach from the center of Boissucanga. Sidnéia greeted us, and we felt she was a little rude at first. Edgar, though, was impeccable, polite, and very attentive. Overall, I'd give our stay an 8.5. If you visit during Carnival, you'll probably enjoy the many street groups, people in costumes, and local performances in lots of different rhythms. It was a lot of fun.

The host seemed unprepared to handle an unexpected problem, and the way he dealt with us left me stressed and worried. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for peace, care, and professionalism. I lost my room key and told the host right away, openly and responsibly. He wouldn't give me the spare room key, only the gate key, which made me worry about my belongings with guests coming and going. I offered to go to a locksmith to sort it out, but couldn't do that without the spare key. On top of that, there was constant pressure about checkout time and the host seemed visibly nervous. A situation that should have been simple turned into a stressful one. There hadn't been any clear rule or prior guidance about what to do if a key was lost. Once the platform told me the cost of a copy, I paid the R$50 straight away. Timeline: Edgard requested R$50 on Jan. 20, 2026 at 08:43 BRT. I paid R$50 BRL. My message to the host was, “Thanks for your hospitality.” Jan. 20, 2026 at 14:45 BRT.

Everything was clean, and the pool was so clear it looked like an aquarium. The pousada is surrounded by nature and feels wonderfully peaceful, with no noisy commotion, just calm. Edgard was a lovely person and gave us tips on restaurants, bakeries, and things to do. It's well located near everything, so we got around on foot. Such a great experience.

We had a really good stay from 08/12 to 15/12. The pousada is about a ten-minute walk from the center of Boiçucanga, an easy stroll. The owners, Edgard and his wife, were excellent and helped us with everything and then some. I'd absolutely recommend it, you can go without hesitation. One suggestion, if possible, would be to make beach umbrellas and chairs available to rent.
