Pousada Terra Juquehy

The afternoon coffee and little cake were a lovely free extra, and they also provide towels for the beach, pool, or jacuzzi. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi at night. At Pousada Terra do Juquehy, the rooms were clean, tidy, and comfortable, with a great shower and air conditioning that worked well. Breakfast was delicious and generous, too. It’s such a welcoming place for a few relaxing days in Juquehy, and I highly recommend it.

The pousada itself was pretty good, and the price felt fair for what you get. My one real annoyance was the beach service, especially “Cícero”. We arrived Friday at 5:10 pm and asked where we could sit. He was sitting smoking in one chair while his “assistant” sat in another, and said there was only one chair left and he was leaving at six. On Saturday he did the bare minimum, then on Sunday it was back to the “Cicero standard”; another couple was waiting and he told them it was full. I walked 30 meters to the “carrinho do João”. He set us up with three chairs, a small table, and two umbrellas in exchange for buying something. I had two coconuts and paid for three as a thank you. The difference was that “Cicero” had already been paid by the pousada either way, while João still had to work for it. I don’t blame the pousada. Finding people who want to work these days is really, really hard.

The beach setup worked smoothly every day. Chairs and umbrellas were ready where we wanted them when we got there, which made things very easy. The staff were attentive, and breakfast had a wonderful spread of fruit, bread, and cakes. Everything went as expected during our stay, with lovely New Year’s Eve surprises: Kopenhagen chocolates, Chandon champagne, and a beautiful table of fruit and cheeses at midnight. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely come back.

We spent New Year’s Eve at the pousada and had a wonderful time. It’s charming, with a really pleasant pool and jacuzzi. The rooms were clean, and although there’s no restaurant, the bar makes tasty sandwiches, salads, snacks, and drinks. The team were friendly and very helpful. We’ll definitely return.
