Waimea Flats Maresias

Fantastic!!!

During Carnival 2023, my son and five friends stayed at the flat while heavy rains were hitting the area. Ivy, the owner, and Fabiano, the caretaker, kept in touch from the start so the families could relax and know the kids and the other guests were okay. They told us the place hadn’t flooded because it was built on suitable ground, away from hills and rivers. We never lost water or electricity. Their care and attention meant a lot. We’ll come back to Maresias and stay with you at the first chance. Thank you so much!

Our children were staying there during the rain that devastated the north coast. The inn stayed safe and untouched, and the water never came anywhere near it. We had water and electricity the whole time. Ivy, the owner, was there for us around the clock, and Fabiano, the caretaker, was so helpful and thoughtful. Huge thanks, Ivy. Ivy kept checking on everyone throughout the Carnival, even down to making sure the taxi she suggested could take them to São Sebastião and advising when it was safe to travel on the highway. She also shared ideas for renting bikes and places to get good food. I’m very grateful for how wonderful she was. My son and five friends stayed at Flat Waimea, and before they even traveled, Ivy had already been very attentive when I made the reservation. Once the phone signal came back, we could confirm the kids were doing extremely well. Ivy had spent so much time reassuring us, explaining that the flat was on high ground away from flood risk, had two ways of collecting water, and had a caretaker living on the property. There were no problems at the flat. Without its special infrastructure and Ivy’s care, this Carnival would have been a disaster. I absolutely recommend it. When things settle down, my wife Andrea and I will visit the flat ourselves.
