Itararé Tower Beach

A terrible place to stay. The rooms are tiny, with nowhere to sit, and the chairs are held together with tape. The wifi barely works, and breakfast is mediocre at best.

The sea view from apartment 23 was really nice, but it was noisy all the time because it’s beside the highway and train tracks. The flat wasn’t very clean, though it wasn’t too bad, and the cooking facilities were a good feature. Room service came daily, but they only took out the trash and swept, without really cleaning. The air conditioner broke during our stay, and the owner sent repairmen to clean and fix it. The shower and toilet were okay, but the bathroom window was broken and mosquitoes got in.

Hard to rate this hotel. It depends on what you're used to. If your usual places are the Sheraton, Renaissance, or other high-end hotels, this one feels like one star. It's a bit sketchy, with dark hallways, a musty smell, and old rooms. But if old haciendas are more your thing, you might give it four or five stars. The free breakfast is great, and the views from up top are awesome. Hope that helps.

For a low-cost stay right across from the beach, this place works well. Just keep in mind it's an apartment, not a hotel, so the rooms feel more like home than finely finished hotel rooms. The reception staff and cleaners were friendly. I'd suggest choosing a room facing the beach, you shouldn't be disappointed.
