Pousada da Tia Lúcia-Loft Rosa Vermelha

Good afternoon. I stayed there for a week with my wife and son exactly 25 years ago, in 2001. I have photos with Dona Lúcia at a private barbecue we had at the pousada, and my son has a photo with her dog Bruno. Is Dona Lúcia still alive? If she is, I’d like to come back soon.

The price is great, and the place feels pleasant and family friendly. There’s a lovely view of the sea, an empty beach, and a beautiful sunset.

It was awful. I gave up and stayed somewhere else. When I arrived at 9 p.m., the room was open and full of mosquitoes. There was no fan or minibar, the person in charge of the pousada was rude and impatient, the pillows had mold, and the shower curtain was covered in grime. The window wouldn’t close. I regret not taking more photos to prove it.

Dona Lúcia made us feel so welcome from the start of our stay at pousada Odara through to the end. We even wished we could have stayed longer. The pousada is right across from the beach, and the simple breakfast was still very complete: bread, cold cuts, pão de queijo, juice, cake, milk, coffee, and fruit. She showed us every available room so we could choose the one that suited us best. Our room had air conditioning and a minibar, which you don’t always find at pousadas in the area. We were treated with a level of kindness and courtesy that’s hard to come by, and we’ll definitely return another time. Thank you, Dona Lúcia.
