The staff were attentive and extremely polite. Outside, the hotel is beautifully maintained, with flowers, fruit trees, lovely grounds, and an incredible view of a waterfall behind it. The building itself is gorgeous, but the rooms urgently need renovations to make the stay more comfortable and guests happier.

The rubbish I asked them to take out over the weekend was still there. At breakfast, there were mosquitoes on the fruit, unfortunately, and the staff could have been more polite.

The room is dated and needs work. The window air conditioner looks at least 30 years old, and I was afraid to touch the minibar in case it shocked me. The place seems to be one of the oldest hotels in town, though the rear has a great view of the pool and the river running by. That charm only goes so far. The nightly rate is very affordable, and with a major renovation this hotel could have a lot of potential.
