Chalés Pousada Serra Negra

Don’t trust the posted photos. We booked the weekend but left before it was over. The air conditioning didn’t work and hadn’t been maintained. The owner blamed CPFL, but when we spoke with the technician hired by the inn, he said the unit was out of gas and needed maintenance. The rooms and bedding were dirty and moldy, and the floor was very dirty. One bed had a broken leg and was hard. The restaurant food was actually pretty good, but the bathrooms were dirty, and the place was dark and looked unclean. The photos may be from the previous owners.

The inn feels neglected and has very little infrastructure. The rooms haven’t been maintained, and the shared spaces, including the game room, pool, reception, and restaurant, all need a lot of renovation.

Breakfast arrived in a basket in our room, and there was more than enough for two. Juliano, one of the owners, welcomed us, explained everything, and shared contacts for places to eat in town along with some tips. The inn is well located, the room was spacious, and the sheets and towels were clean. The bathroom and shower were basic but worked fine. We liked everything and will definitely come back.

I booked on impulse at the last minute because I needed somewhere to rest. The service was good and the place met my expectations. Good value, I recommend it.
