Hostel do Sossego

The bathroom trash took almost three days to be changed, and by then it was spilling onto the floor. We also asked for extra blankets because it got very cold at night, but were told there weren’t any left, even though the hostel was nearly empty. At check-in, nobody explained how the bathrooms, kitchen, or TV worked, and there was only one outlet in our four-bed room. It feels like the hostel has been left to itself. Reception is in the chalet, where the attention is clearly aimed at a different group. Being a low-cost hostel shouldn’t mean the owners can’t take care of it.

I booked this hotel through Agoda in March 2020 and paid by credit card that same day, even though I had chosen to pay in person. I had to cancel because of quarantine, about 20 days ahead of the stay. I called to ask for a refund, and the owner told me on the phone that I’d get my money back. I never did. I’ve never stayed at this hotel and never will. The phone number I used no longer answers, so if the owner wants to contact me, they can reply to this review with a number that works. I had to give it one star to post this, but I’ve never been there.

Everything worked out really well for us and met our needs perfectly.

Just awful. I can’t recommend it. There’s no organization, the shower doesn’t get hot, and the service was horrible. The rooms feel like dormitories, with about five bunk beds. Not acceptable.
