Gerosa Hostel

It's okay.

The nightly rate looks appealing, but for us it wasn't worth it. The place is a large old house that's been turned into a hotel, and it lacks basic things like bathroom hooks for clothes and shelves. Some drains were loose, the breakfast was very basic, and the door locks were faulty. Parking only fits two cars, so mine had to stay on a busy street. There was also a wine shop across from the hotel that stayed open late, with noise from its customers. The pool has no ladder to get in or out and is deep for small children. On top of that, motorcycles on the avenue were very loud and bothered us when we were trying to rest somewhere different. It's a shame, since the hotel's reviews seem to leave these problems out.

The common area was decent, but the room I stayed in was dreadful. I also can't understand why there was no soap in the bathroom for washing hands. The hostel had no management supervision during the day, either. How are you supposed to check out and hand over the key if there's nobody there? The low price is what draws people in, but this is a case of cheap ending up costly. I don't recommend it.

I come here fairly often, and it feels like being at home. It's nice to have the freedom to make yourself comfortable, though sometimes I do miss having someone on site to help. They're available on WhatsApp if needed, and generally things are set up so guests can feel at home. The pool is a lovely bonus, especially for the rental price. I'll be back and recommend the place.
