Hotel Recreio dos Bandeirantes

I stay here often, sometimes for over 15 days, and I really like it. The breakfast is a 10, and the rooms have air conditioning and decent beds. The staff are great too: the front desk team gets top marks, and the cleaning and kitchen staff are very polite.

The service was awful from start to finish. My bathroom was dirty, as if someone had just used it, and the shower was broken. It took a long time for staff to deal with that. There were other guests' clothes left in the wardrobe, and the bedding was dirty and smelled strongly of mold. Breakfast seemed prepared without any care. Then they moved me to another room with separate beds, which left me feeling embarrassed. I won't come back or recommend it.

The location is convenient, close to the highway, and the room was basic but had air conditioning. The bathroom was small, the shower sprayed unevenly instead of flowing straight, and there was only a bath towel, no hand towel. There wasn't a blanket in the room either. Breakfast runs from 6:15 to 10:00. I arrived at 9:35, when there were only about six cheese breads left and the scrambled eggs were gone. The employee said they would refill the eggs, which they did, but not the cheese bread. I wasn't satisfied with that answer, especially since breakfast was still being served until 10. I asked for the person in charge and was told they were off that day, and the staff on duty were responsible. I went to reception; the employee initially seemed willing to help, but the cheese bread still wasn't replenished. The breakfast selection itself was simple: scrambled eggs, sausage, French bread, ham, mozzarella, butter, coffee, juice, a plain cake, and two or three kinds of fruit. Given how the breakfast issue was handled, I'd look for another place next time I'm in Sertãozinho. From what I found, hotel prices there are about the same.

The hotel was good, but breakfast was underwhelming. After staying for more than a week, I had a lot of back pain, maybe the bed wasn't great. A few small improvements could make a difference.
