Casarão da Amazônia has a charming design that reflects the area’s history, and the whole place feels welcoming and peaceful. I was impressed by the attention to detail, and it’s a nice spot to relax or get a feel for the local culture. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout my stay, which was a nice bonus. The staff were attentive and helpful, and I’d happily stay again. Highly recommend it!

The staff who work at the inn were the one real bright spot, especially the women in the kitchen and Nathan. The rest needs a lot of work. The owners treated guests like they were doing us a favor by letting us stay in their beach house, even though this was one of the more expensive places in Soure. They used the common areas with friends, then hosted a New Year’s party until 5 in the morning while everyone at the inn was trying to sleep. We messaged them and asked in person, but they didn’t seem to care and kept playing with a full band. It sounded like the drums and guitar were in my room, and the sound quality was pretty questionable. We hadn’t been told about the event when we booked, so it was an unpleasant surprise. Breakfast started out amazing, but got smaller each day. By our last morning it was mostly leftover fruit and cheese with stale bread. It felt like they made one grocery run and didn’t restock anything. There wasn’t even any couscous.
