Elo Hostel

The space looks nice and has plenty of places to relax, but the way it's run left a bad impression. During my three-night stay there were almost no other guests, which surprised me for somewhere supposedly so well rated. There wasn't soap in any of the four toilets in 2024. Check-out at 12 was convenient, but if you have an afternoon or evening flight or other connection, you can't stay on or even leave a bag without paying 15 real. I really didn't like the vibe, and the online rating doesn't seem justified at all. The location is far out, though that's not really the property's fault. Still, at €10 for a shared eight-bed dorm an hour by metro from the center, with no breakfast included, I expected better standards. I've never seen a business with a 100% five-star Google rating, so I'd be suspicious. I'm even more surprised that honest moderate or negative reviews seem to have been removed. A few less glowing reviews I found on other platforms matched my own experience and gave me an idea of management's attitude.

I like the decor and the atmosphere.

Nice.

I'd stayed here often and always had a good impression, but my latest experience contacting them on WhatsApp was really disappointing. The person who replied was called Adriana, who I believe is the property's owner. The responses felt stiff and impersonal, almost automated, with no room to talk things through or find flexibility around simple issues. I understand they can't always agree to every customer request, but the least they could do is offer more human, welcoming service. It's strange to see so many businesses complain about a crisis and not enough customers, then show so little interest in serving people well. It left me feeling like I was asking for a favor, when I was just trying to pay for something I wanted to use. After this, I no longer felt welcome and don't plan to return. I can't recommend it, especially since the service, which used to set the place apart, has practically disappeared.
