We spent a weekend here with my family and loved it. The house was perfect, exactly as shown in the photos, very well looked after, and stocked with all the kitchen utensils and bed and bath linens we needed. Mishelly was attentive from our very first contact, easy to reach, and always polite. The caretaker was helpful too, stopping by to collect the trash and check if we needed anything. We’ll definitely return!

The owners charged more for electricity than the contract allowed. I also felt misled about the property and its management was poor from the start. I had a very bad stay, and strongly recommend that people read all the details before booking so they don’t end up disappointed. There were serious electrical and safety problems: switches and outlets didn’t work properly, there was a short circuit, and the windows had no locks, bars, or protective screens, which left us feeling unsafe. The main door locks were flimsy, the front of the house had no proper setup or sidewalk, and there was no garage. The garden and outdoor area were completely neglected. The bathrooms were very dirty, moldy, and smelly, with little black flies. The doors had no locks, the electric showers didn’t work, and their water outlets were clogged, making a proper shower impossible. The shower stalls and space around the sinks were very cramped. One double bed mattress had a dip in the middle, and there wasn’t enough wardrobe space in the bedrooms. Some rooms had no wardrobe at all, just a terrible, unsuitable item for storing things. The kitchen utensils were old, dented, and disgusting. The fridge was old, broken, and not working; the stove had rusty burners and was leaking gas. The place was horrible. I can’t recommend it to anyone. The owners need to make urgent repairs and improve how they manage the property before renting it out again.

The most upsetting part of our seven-night stay was the electricity bill. We were charged R$ 403,00, above the amount set out in the contract. We photographed the meter at arrival and departure: 367 kWh at R$ 0,76, the highest rate charged by Neoenergia PE, comes to R$ 278,92. Were the other R$ 124,08 taxes and fees? That doesn’t seem realistic for seven days. January had a green tariff flag announced by Aneel, with no extra charge. Even if there had been one, it would have been R$ 23,61, based on R$ 7,87 extra per 100 kWh. Charging a whole month of taxes and fees for seven days was absurd. The listing photos didn’t show the real condition of the house, and the advertising left us extremely frustrated. Management was inefficient from the start, and the property had many hidden problems. The switches and outlets didn’t work properly, and a short circuit damaged the breaker and burned out the electric shower. It wasn’t replaced during our stay. The windows had no locks, bars, or safety screens, which made us feel unsafe. The main door locks were flimsy, and although there was outdoor space, we weren’t allowed to park our cars there. The bathrooms were awful: dirty grout, mold, a returning sewer smell, tiny stalls with broken doors or doors that wouldn’t close, and unusable electric showers. The folding plastic doors were broken or had no locks. Kitchen utensils were old, dented, broken, and revolting. The chairs were in bad shape, and one was broken. The fridge was deteriorated, its freezer didn’t work properly, and broken acrylic parts nearly caused an accident when a glass bottle of grape juice fell out and broke. The stove was dirty inside and out, had rusty burners, three burners wouldn’t light, and gas leaked while it was in use. The outdoor area was abandoned. The so-called gourmet area couldn’t be used, with a very dirty barbecue and sinks. The pool wasn’t maintained properly, its edges visibly grimy and encrusted, so cleaning just the water wasn’t enough. The house wasn’t clean either. We found built-up dirt when we moved furniture, and dust was visible throughout. Some box beds were damaged and made it hard to sleep, and the sheets were dingy. Construction was going on on both sides, with lots of workers and deafening noise. It hurt our privacy, and the constant noise and nearby conversations meant we couldn’t sleep past 7 in the morning or relax by the pool. None of this was mentioned ahead of time. With all these problems, I can’t recommend the property. The owners need to fix the many defects and improve the management if they want to offer a remotely acceptable stay.

The bathrooms were filthy and full of slime, there was a lot of mold in the upstairs bedrooms, and the barbecue grill was disgusting. The whole house was badly maintained and crawling with little cockroaches, huge flies, and mosquitoes. We even had to wash the towels before using them, and the pots had bugs and dirt in them. The woman asked someone to clean, but she just wiped over the slime. She seemed incredibly lazy. I was miserable staying in such a dirty, unpleasant place. She also charged more for electricity than the power company rate. DON'T RENT IT!

We had a wonderful family trip, apart from the awful house we rented after it was presented as excellent. We were misled. It was disgustingly dirty, moldy, and the kitchen utensils were unpleasant to even touch. We had a great time exploring the beautiful places around Carneiros, but this was the first truly deplorable place we had stayed. The listing photos look like they were taken when the house was first built, and it seemed like the place ought to be demolished instead of offered to unsuspecting guests. On top of that, they charged us R$ 513,00 for seven days of electricity. The owner’s contract said the rate would be 0,70 per kW at checkout, but we were charged 1,10 per kW. I’m sharing this honestly because we were taken in by untruthful reviews. Don’t rent it, you’ll regret it. I don’t recommend it at all.
