Tubiba Hostel

We didn’t know what to expect when we stayed in Tamandare, and we enjoyed the local feel of an area being swallowed up by tourism. This beautiful hostel has a lovely family running it, a peaceful setting, and great energy. It was a perfect base for hopping between beaches.

Tubiba is an AMAZING place, where life moves with the cycle of the wind. The setting is beautiful, and it’s great for working from home. I learned so much from the vibe there. Between the guitar energy and the Yoga you can do there, I could connect with music and with my body. I could stay forever.

The best part of our three weeks along Brazil’s northeast coast, from Pipa to São Miguel dos Milagres, was our five days at Tubiba. The hostel is new, affordable, and close to Tamandaré beach, in a beautiful area that hasn’t been overrun by the heavy tourism seen in Carneiros or Porto de Galinhas. Jessica & Lucas, the young couple who run it, have put care into the comfort, facilities, and decor. There’s room for all kinds of backpackers in the common areas, and the rooftop chill-out spot is worth checking out. Our room was spacious and pleasant, and breakfast was included and met our expectations. Tubiba Hostel looks set for success.

The hosts are helpful, and the room was okay. It’s a cheap place, though you shouldn’t expect anyone to speak a language other than Portuguese.
