Pousada & Spa Vrindávana

We had a fantastic room looking out over the forest, and they welcomed us with sparkling wine and chocolates. The hotel itself was great, with a nice, clean, cozy, and quiet space. The staff were wonderful and very polite, and the restaurant was definitely star quality. I was on vacation in Teresopolis, RJ, Brazil, with my girlfriend, hoping for some peace and relaxation. We felt thoroughly spoiled. Each morning came with a buffet breakfast, and we could use the exercise area, private spa pool, sauna, and waterfall. There's also a lovely waterfall just a five minute walk away. I'd suggest the Yadu suite, where I stayed. I plan to come back on my next vacation. Thanks for everything, Ricardo.

The noise made it impossible to relax. Music blared from the centre of the property, people were partying loudly, and we could hear other rooms from inside ours. Even on a "Nature Walk," the music followed us, so we couldn't disconnect or meditate. It really spoiled the mood. We chose the hotel because it's inside an Ashram property and its name suggested a chance to connect with nature and ourselves. The reality felt far from that. What bothered me most was that the staff seemed unfamiliar with the property's history and purpose, as part of an Ashram and named after a temple in India, Vrindavan. We've stayed in this complex before, which has an Ashram with its own guest house and three hotels, but this was our first time at this hotel. We might return to Gaura Mandir, where we know the staff are super nice and the food is delicious. We won't return to Vrindávana.
