Recanto do Lord Hostel

It wasn't working.

The hosts were warm and helpful, and the shared areas were a plus: there's a good space to socialize and the kitchen is well equipped. The men's shared room has good accommodations, including provided bedding, and the bathroom was a bit cramped but very clean. It's also excellent value for money. Just keep in mind that it's up a steep hill, which can be difficult for anyone with mobility problems, so a taxi would be needed.

The place was dirty, awful, and terrible. They don't honor reservations. There's no parking at the hostel, and the street is narrow, so guests are forced to park on the sidewalk, which no decent citizen would do. Don't go to Recanto do Lord unless you want misery and frustration. Teresópolis has much better, more honest options.

Ângela is very friendly and makes guests feel at ease in a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. I stayed just one night. It's simple, but good for what a hostel is meant to be, and I recommend it.
