The service was incredibly attentive, and the location was lovely.

The garden is the best part, beautifully kept, with a sea view. There are just two rooms to rent, so it feels very intimate. Getting down from the road takes a long, steep stretch with stairs, which makes it unsuitable for people with limited mobility or strollers. It is a bed and breakfast, so expectations should stay modest. There’s no reception or staff on hand all day, though the staff are very friendly. Breakfast is good, with cold cuts, cheese, ham, fruit, bread, juice, and coffee, which is a bit strong. The shared kitchen is well equipped, and free drinking water is provided, but there are no shops or markets nearby. The rooms are somewhat dark because of the lighting and dark wood. I found the bed comfortable and firm, which suits me. The shower is adequate, the usual kind you find around Pipa, and the air conditioning works okay. Sound carries badly through the walls, so you can hear everything next door. There’s also a grill, but the bottom has a hole in it at the moment. I hope they fix it.

The jungle setting is lovely, with monkeys and other animals stopping by, and the ocean view is fabulous. It’s peaceful too, with a soft breeze and no traffic, shouting, music, or other noise. The Brazilian-style breakfast has a good range of dishes, and everything was very clean. We’re staying at Villa Maree and it’s been quite an experience. The staff and owners are helpful and available around the clock. When our flight was delayed by a day, they let us check out 12 hours later. I have nothing negative to say, just gratitude.

The view from the terrace was wonderful, with dolphins and surfers enjoying the waves at Praia do Madeiro all day. Monkeys came by too, without bothering anyone, while we had a generous breakfast. The location, facilities, and service were all excellent, and the stay was easy and relaxing, surrounded by the sea and nature. After a 10/10 visit, we got to the immigration line at Natal airport and realized we’d left our passports in the room safe 🤦🏼♂️. What a mess! One quick call to Jacqueline from V Maree, and just 10 minutes later the passports were on their way to us by taxi from the airport. They’re one of a kind. That deserves a sixth star so people know about this service, since almost nobody offers it. Staying at Villa Maree also let us experience the warmth and quality of everyone involved. Thanks to all the team at V Maree.

The guesthouse is right by Praia do Madeiro, with a lovely garden, private terraces for the rooms, a great breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. Our double room was spacious, clean, and well cared for, with good beds and plenty of towels. The shared kitchen between the two rooms is clean, fully equipped, and open for guests to cook whenever they like. It even has a little bookshelf, which I loved. Outside, there’s a grill, hammocks, chairs, and loungers. One thing to know is that the rooms don’t include toiletries like soap, shampoo, or conditioner, or a hair dryer, so bring your own. In the afternoon the staff leave, and no one stays at the guesthouse overnight. That gave it a bit of a rented-house feeling, which was new to me. I’m not saying it’s necessarily bad, but I think having a night guard would be a good idea. Guests are told how it works when they arrive and get a gate remote for cars and a key for pedestrian access. If you have a large car, check with the owner or staff that it will fit, as the drive from the gate to the parking area is quite narrow. Although the guesthouse is by the sea, the beach entrance is via nearby stairways, not through the property. The area has cliffs, so a direct path would be dangerous and prohibited, and could lead to a huge IBAMA fine for clearing the land. The walk isn’t far, and a few extra steps are fine. You get some exercise and help respect nature. #vamosrespeitaranatureza!
