The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was great. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. It’s a new hotel with a traditional feel. I’d definitely recommend it, and I’ll be back.

The property looks lovely, but it’s misleading. We paid 6,000 reais for five days in a triple room, and it was a terrible experience. It’s poorly located, with a very steep hill to walk up to reach the Historic Center. There seemed to be no management. Staff were poorly trained or absent, and the owners didn’t provide the support or training needed. The only employee who seemed willing to help was Nubia, and I felt sorry for her. She was left alone to clean, cook, and take care of 26 rooms. On Carnival Tuesday, we were left alone at the inn and told our room wouldn’t be cleaned because we were the only guests there and Nubia was on her own. The air conditioning remote in our room was broken. The night employee refused to replace it, even though there was another one available, and said we should call reception whenever we wanted to adjust the temperature. There were three women in the room, which made that ridiculous. They only replaced the remote on the third day, after many complaints. Breakfast was a joke despite Nubia’s efforts. The tables were poorly set with an orange tablecloth and no breakfast dishes, so we had to get our own plates and cutlery. For a Minas-style breakfast, there was only slices of Minas cheese and prato cheese. The cold cuts were prato cheese, ham, and turkey breast. The same lemon cake was served for three days, by then hard and without syrup. The cheese bread was hard and inedible, an insult to Minas Gerais.

The owner humiliates both staff and guests. It was upsetting to watch. The inn is clean, thanks to what the few employees manage to do, but the rooms are dreadful. For this quality, that price should be a crime.

The inn’s structure is very pretty, but there was no service or welcome, and we were disappointed. Service was absent, the few staff members weren’t properly trained, and the owners were rude to guests. Breakfast was very basic. The price doesn’t match the service provided. Such a shame.

The inn is very good, but I think it needs more staff. For the price, breakfast should have more choices. You even have to pay for a little coffee outside breakfast hours.
