Hotel Jardim do Mar

We paid quite a bit, but the breakfast was poor. We stayed five days and the fruit was limited to papaya, melon, banana, and watermelon. The chopped bananas were black, apparently from the day before, and the rest tasted sour. The coffee was weak and kept running out, and there would be nothing savory for over half an hour while they said it was still baking. The room also had problems: no hair dryer, a partly broken bed, and a bathroom so cramped you could barely move. There was no way to bathe our baby, and no bathtub. On the third night, at 8:30 on Saturday evening, we came back to find termites swarming from the bathroom door. They were crawling on the bed, floor, and curtains, with wings everywhere. We had a six-month-old baby, so there was no way we were putting her to sleep among them. They said all they could do was sweep, spray some insecticide, and then we could go to bed. After a long, stressful argument, I slept with the baby in my parents' room, where they were also staying. We had a portable crib in the car, thankfully. We stood up for our rights, and after a stressful night when we nearly called the military police, they refunded that night's rate and moved us to another room the next day when one became available. We had to go into my parents' room, even though they were paying guests too. The rooms and beds were poor, the internet was weak, and on the first day we hardly ate breakfast because nothing was being replenished. The reception staff seemed embarrassed and had little support from the owner. The worst part was seeing the owner watching who went to breakfast while the food was still running out.

We spent a week there, and the staff were always polite and attentive. We asked to have the room cleaned each morning, and it was very clean whenever we returned. The bathroom was small, but it worked for us. Breakfast was basic, which felt fair for the price, especially since this was the most affordable hotel I found so close to the seafront in Torres. My only suggestion is to clean the air conditioner and bathroom exhaust fan, as they had quite a lot of dust and signs of mold.

The location is excellent, but the hotel needs work. Even after we complained, they did nothing and didn't seem willing to. Breakfast was disappointing, and parking costs extra. I won't stay here again.

We booked through Booking and paid extra for a better room with a sea view. When we arrived, we paid R$1.620,00 in cash for three nights. I even asked whether the room had a balcony and faced the sea, but no one answered. The room was awful, the worst I’ve ever stayed in, with no balcony and in a very poor state. We went back to reception to complain, but the person in charge wasn’t there and the attendant couldn’t reach her. We spent hours trying to sort it out. He said there were no rooms available like the one we’d paid for. We asked for the extra amount back, or a full refund so we could find another hotel. After several attempts, the attendant reached the person in charge, who said she wouldn’t return the money. My husband was so upset that he decided we couldn’t stay there. We lost R$1.620,00 and had to look for another hotel after a seven-hour trip. The person in charge didn’t even try to resolve anything. I feel robbed and ignored. I’d never recommend this old, awful hotel. The service was terrible.
